Hobby or Therapy?
Hobbies are wonderful and often considered therapeutic. Playing an instrument is no different as this hobby that has spanned centuries. Listening to music when cleaning or driving provide distraction yet these activities do not address the deep underlying issues and symptoms of those struggling with post-traumatic stress. The process of creating music can evoke emotional, physical, spiritual, and sensory responses not normally seen in other types of therapy sessions based upon a growing body of research.
